What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient healing art with roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word “rei” which means Universal Life, and “ki” which means Energy. Reiki is not a religion or a religious practice. It is not a massage technique nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle form of energy work that can be used to heal the body and the mind.
Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect to their own healing energy and use it to heal themselves. The practitioner is simply helping to facilitate that connection.

Reiki is non-invasive and has no known contraindications or negative side effects. It only supports healing while bringing peace to the body and mind.
What to expect
A Reiki session is usually 45 to 60 minutes long. During the session you will be resting comfortably on your back on a massage table with your shoes removed. Unlike massage therapy, the patient is always fully clothed so it is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing for your session. A session can either be hands-on, where the practitioner will apply a light touch during the session, or hands-off where they will hold their hands above your body. If you prefer not to be touched, please inform the practitioner.
